Our Story

Most women are navigating birth surrounded by fear, conflicting advice and very little real support in how to understand what’s happening in their body.

I created The Birth Prep Studio because I saw too many women entering pregnancy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from their bodies and unsure how to truly prepare for birth in a way that felt grounding and real.

My work combines birth education, movement and nervous system support so women can feel more informed, more connected and more confident going into labour — whatever that looks like for them.

Women are consuming more pregnancy and birth content than ever before and yet they still feel unprepared.

You’re told to:

  • trust your body

  • stay positive

  • write a birth plan

  • do a course

  • breathe

But very few women are actually taught:

  • what’s happening inside their body during labour

  • how fear and safety impact birth physiology

  • how movement changes labour

  • how to work with contractions instead of resisting them

  • what to do when things feel intense or overwhelming

So instead of feeling prepared, many women feel anxious, disconnected and unsure who to trust.

This is what I wanted to change.

When I was pregnant at 20, I realised how little women are actually taught about birth!

With my first baby, I quickly realised how conflicting and fear-based most of the information around birth was.

Some voices made birth sound terrifying, and others made it sound like you just had to “surrender and trust” without understanding anything practical.

Neither felt right to me.

So I started learning everything I could — about birth physiology, movement, the nervous system, and how the body actually works during labour. I trained as a pregnancy yoga specialist, and suddenly things started to make so much more sense.

I didn’t want a “perfect” birth. I wanted to understand how my body gives birth, what my options were, and how to be deeply satisfied with my experience — whatever path my baby and body took.

I planned a home birth and prepared deeply for every possible outcome.

And although my birth unfolded with external chaos, internally I felt grounded in what my body was doing. I wasn’t guessing. I wasn’t panicking. I wasn’t outsourcing myself.

I ended up giving birth mostly alone, with no pain relief — which was not how I had planned it.

But because I had prepared so deeply, I stayed calm and connected. I had the most incredible, grounding, and positive experience. I would have done it again the next day if I could.

That experience completely changed how I view birth preparation, and it became the foundation of everything I now teach.

It was the most empowering experience of my life. I could feel, in real time, the conversation between my body and my baby.

And I knew — without question — that understanding birth physiology, biomechanics, movement and nervous system support was the reason I was able to experience it that way.

I’ve been sharing that message ever since.

Preparation isn’t about control — it’s about understanding

Birth is not something you can script. But it is something you can prepare for in a way that completely changes your experience of it.

Real preparation looks like:

  • understanding your body instead of fearing it

  • knowing how your nervous system responds to stress

  • learning how movement supports labour

  • having tools for intensity, not just calm moments

  • feeling informed without being overwhelmed

This is where so many women are left unsupported.

Not because they’re doing anything wrong — but because the preparation they’re given is incomplete.

So my work sits in the middle:

  • not fear-based

  • not fantasy-based

  • but grounded, practical and body-led

The Birth Prep Studio is everything I teach — in one place

I created The Birth Prep Studio to bring all of this together into one accessible space for women during pregnancy.

Inside the studio you’ll find:

  • birth education that actually makes sense

  • pregnancy yoga and movement

  • nervous system regulation tools

  • labour preparation and positioning

  • breath and body-based support

  • understanding of different birth pathways

It is designed to help you feel more connected to your body and more steady within yourself — not overwhelmed by information or pressure to get birth “right.”

This is not about creating a perfect birth.

It’s about changing your relationship with birth itself.
